The question of which boat to fish on is one that I get from many people. The answer is both simple and complex.
The simple answer is that most boats in the fleet in Quepos are large and equipped enough for the type of fishing that they will offer you. Also, most crews in Quepos have been fishing for many years and know these waters very well. A captain here, just as a captain in the Keys or anywhere else, does not just hop behind the wheel and start controlling someone's $100,000 boaat.
So for the quick response, almost every boat in the fleet is fully capable of catching the type of fish that they are meant to catch. Some of the smaller boats will stay inshore to fish for Snook, Rooster Fish and other inshore species, while other larger boats will go offshore for billfish, Dorado and other species usually caught when trolling offshore.
