Should I bring my own fishing equipment?

Every boat in the  Quepos Fleet and especially boats represented here on FishQuepos.com have more than enough rods, reels, tackle and equipment that could ever be used in a day of fishing. More often than not, boats have backups for their backups. So you will never need to bring any equipment with you on the boat.

but...

I know, you have caught all of your prized fish on your equipment and you want to tell all of your buddies that you caught your Sailfish in Costa Rica on your Calcutta that has traveled with you to four different countries on different fishing expeditions.

So if you would like to bring your own equipment, we are more than willing to help you put another notch on the belt of your prized piece. No worries. Pura Vida.

But just be aware that you will have to travel with that equipment the whole time you are in Costa Rica, so be ready. Sometimes fishing equipment can get cumbersome to carry with you through airports and in cars, and sometimes airlines have weird rules about bringing rod.

From my experience, reels are not that bad to throw into a suitcase, but rods can be a major hassle.
