May 17th: Still catching big Snapper

E-mail Print PDF

Hello everybody! The rain has started. Not so great for fishing but great for the new sod at the house!

We see a lot of cloudy water this time of year, especially inshore. I saw a great example of it yesterday morning as the rains washed all of the murky water out of the river. You could see a  distinct greenish cloud leaving the river and traveling farther and farther out.

Boats are releasing a few Sailfish, usually 2-5 in a day right now. Sometimes a few more when live bait can be found.

Lately there has been some really nice Cubera Snapper caught. Nothing close to the IGFA world record of 124lbs 12oz, but big nonetheless.

Other news in Quepos is that high speed internet is finally here!!!! We can now boast a faster than dial-up speed in our houses in Quepos, Costa Rica. This might sound like a small feat for mankind, but it sure is a huge leap for this kind of man. If you have the time, try plugging you computer into the phone line and surfing the web like that just for fun. Come on, try it. Oh yeah, and if you are going to catch a Cubera and want a picture with it, don't put your hands too deep into its mouth... they have teeth.

I hope all is well with everyone, everywhere in the world and Justin, take care of your finger. You might have been bit, but at least you didn't let YOUR Snapper get away...

-Nap
