June 21st: Tons of Tuna, Dorado

E-mail Print PDF

Hello everyone. The red tide hasn't seemed to be too bad for Quepos fishing, as boats are slaying the Yellowfin Tuna right now, getting into schools of thousands of them and bringing home a boatful of the tasty football sized treats. Also, some nice Dorado have been caught. One boat got into a nice school of Tuna lately while fishing off the shores of Quepos and the commercial fishing guys were buzzing so close to them that they cut their teasers. When there is a big school of Tuna found, the commercial boats will school them up with a bunch of really fast dingys and keep everyone else off of the school... sometimes they come so close they will almost touch your boat.

Ojaran II caught ten Dorado, a Wahoo, a sail and a Tuna the other day. All they were missing was a Marlin!

My girls are back and Neko is sitting on my lap as I type this. I love it. She's a little squirmy for fishing report ease, but that's ok.
