I've been traveling over the last few days and man is finding an internet hotspot in CR a difficult thing to do. But finding a 50lb Rooster and and Imperial with no problem kind of makes up for the difference I guess.
The fishing has been holding on pretty strong over the last few days, with the Sails coming to the top pretty heavily and the Rooster bite continuing. I have also heard word of some Wahoo being caught recently.
Dad and some of our Tico friends went out fishing on Sunday... I stayed home to get some things done. They went to 26 and had a pretty good day. They started off with a triple hookup on Sails where two of the three holding poles had never caught a Sailfish. They were still unable to put the first notch on their belt a few minutes later, when all three fish got off. Three missed Sails at one time. Ouch.
The day continued with six more raises, four of them being released. The two Sailfish rookies got to catch their first Sail and have the photos to remember the moment forever.
Raulito, the son of the owner of Costa Mar Sportfishing, was one of the two to catch his first Sailfish. The picture will be going up in the office at Costa Mar. Stop by and take a look when you are in Quepos.
The boys from Cali that were fishing on the Ojaran III last week had a little competition going on to see which group could catch the most sails in a day... the boys from the first day took home the win with six Sails released. The boys the next day only released five.
