Dec 15th: Fishing Has Slowed, Marlin Still Biting Far Out

E-mail Print PDF

The word 'round the campfire is that all Captains are seeing a ton of fish, but nothing is biting. It is right around the time that Sailfish should be jumping into the boat, but a report from Jerry at Luna Tours says that the trolling has been SLOW over the last few days. He reported the occasional Dorado and raising some sails but nothing is wanting to get brought to the boat.

He did say that they have been catching some nice Roosters this week.

Alcides from Costa Mar Sportfishing said that the Fishing Machine has run into some Tuna, Mahi and some more Sailfish that don't seem to want to be released. The Fishing Machine recently raised 3 Sails and only released 1.

The Reel Deel has reported releasing two sailfish, two Dorado and 15 YFT on the 14th and   4 sails and 3 Dorado on the 15th. The previous information was brought to me by Quepos Sailfishing Charters.

Jesús says that the Precedent went over 50 miles out to lock into two Marlin on Friday and one yesterday. I guess it was worth the trip!

I guess we'll wait and see what happens over the next week. We started off so well this season... I hope it picks back up.

If you are checking the site and you have been fishing recently, please shoot me an email with some photos and your story. I would love to post your story on the site.

Brandon
