To start off I would like to say that I am very sorry for the
horrendous slack in reporting lately. Getting back to Quepos has been a
rough journey, but it is nice to be back. And the busy season sure is
here!
I have been reminded of a few things since I have gotten here… the
octoganal road sign that says “alto” means look both ways and then keep
driving and Tico time is a heck of a thing.
Speaking of Tico time, the marina is moving along. It should be done sometime, with sometime being the operative word.
Quepos Fishing Report February 21st 2008
Inshore fishing has been RIDICULOUS! The Fishing Machine caught 16 roosters today. Other boats have been releasing 15+ Roosters on the regular... smaller ones in the 25lb range, but 15+ nonetheless.
The Sails and Dorado have been pretty regular with boats raising 10+ Sailfish and releasing 7 or 8.
The word is that the fish have been moving a lot… here one day and gone
the next. Either way, some boats are doing a great job finding them.
Magic Moon released 2 Sails today while the Moon Walker had a killer
day with a 400-450lb Blue Marlin, a huge Snapper, a huge Grouper and a
couple of Amberjack.
Most offshore boats today reported either a few Dorado, a few Sailfish or a few of each. No big numbers in Sailfish today. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
As goes a day of fishing, the people here are having a blast catching fish, little and big alike.
