Fishing is still slamming right now with boats coming in with 10+ Sailfish regularly. The Dorado bite has also picked up... some boats are bringing home more than three a day. In the last few days, the boys have reported raising a few Marlin... but none to the boat.
Friday the Ojaran III released 11 Sailfish and 2 Dorado, two of those Sails were on the fly! That same day, the Precedent boated 7 Sails and 3 YFT. The Fishing Machine boated 3 Sails and 2 Mahi, the Frenzy 7 Sails, the Swordfish 11 Sails and 1 Mahi and Sarita 2 sails and 2 Mahi. A heck of a way to start the weekend!
In talking to Jerry of Lunatours, I found out that his captains have raised a few Marlin in the last couple of trips but have not brought any to the boat. But they are there...
This Friday is my last day at work in the States and as of April 1st, I promise more frequent and better reports... For those of you who don't know, I run an after school program at Metcalfe Elementary School in Gainesville, FL. A job I've had since my college days at UF. I am currently cranking on trying to get the Yearbook going again this year... a project that I hope can continue long after I'm gone. You can see some info about last year's project here.
I love my job and am sad to leave... but as our family's life takes a turn, we are ending up in a different place. And now I have to follow my dream of becoming part of the fishing community in Quepos and living in beautiful Costa Rica, darn!
